Deutschland. Ein Kriegsschiff der deutschen Marine hat im Mittelmeer 90 illegale Migranten aufgesammelt.
Am Donnerstagmorgen entdeckte das Radar der Fregatte “Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” zwei Schlauchboote rund 130 Kilometer vor der libyschen Küste.
Das deutsche Kriegsschiff erhielt gegen 7 Uhr den Auftrag der Küstenwache in Rom, die illegalen Einwanderer aus einem der beiden Schlauchboote aufzunehmen. Die Personen des zweiten Schlauchbootes wurden durch das NGO-Schiff “Aquarius” geborgen.
Die Bundeswehr übergab die Migranten anschließend an das NGO-Schiff “Open Arms”, welches die Fahrt nach Italien fortsetzte. Nach Angaben des Verteidigungsministeriums in Berlin haben deutsche Marineschiffe seit Mai 2015 über 22.000 Illegale nach Europa gebracht.
