Eine ägyptische TV-Moderatorin wurde zu einer dreijährigen Gefängnisstrafe verurteilt – weil sie zuvor in ihrer Show unter anderem die Möglichkeiten für eine außereheliche Schwangerschaft angesprochen hatte.
Obwohl das Thema im muslimischen Ägypten als überaus heikel gilt, fragte Doaa Salah die Zuschauer ihrer Fernsehsendung, ob sie schon einmal über außerehelichen Sex nachgedacht hätten. Außerdem warf sie die Idee in den Raum, dass eine Frau ja auch kurz heiraten könnte, um sich dann wieder scheiden zu lassen, nachdem sie Kinder bekommen hätte.
Auch das Thema Samenspende brachte Salah zur Sprache: Während diese Methode zum Kinderbekommen in westlichen Ländern als vollkommen normal angesehen werde, würde das in Ägypten nicht akzeptiert.
