A foreign national in the United States on a tourist visa has been charged with attempted kidnapping after allegedly trying to kidnap and murder a baby.
Precious Chigbue, a 24-year-old Nigerian national, is accused of attempted kidnapping following an incident at a Lynn, Massachusetts, laundromat where he allegedly took a woman’s baby before being stopped, according to the Daily Item.
According to police, Chigbue has now admitted that he was planning to slit the baby’s throat when he originally took the child at the laundromat. The Daily Item reports:
After police detained Chigbue, an officer asked him what he planned to do with the little girl that he had taken and he reportedly said “I was thinking about killing the kid,” according to a police report obtained at Lynn District Court.
After Chigbue was taken to the Lynn Police Station, he again expressed his interest in “killing a baby” and when an officer asked him how he planned to do that, he responded by saying “I was going to slit her throat,” court documents show.
Chigbue, according to court records, is a relatively new arrival to the U.S., only arriving four months ago from Nigeria…
