China bans ‘certain Islamic names’ in Muslim-dominated region

Names with strong religious meanings like Islam, Koran, Mecca, Imam, Saddam, Hajj, and Medina, as well as names that have “connotations of holy war [Jihad] or of splittism [sic – Xinjiang independence]” are included in the list….

The new decree comes after Chinese authorities banned “abnormal” beards and veils in public places.

Even China — known for its persecution of religious minorities if they are deemed threatening to the state’s predominance — has an Islamic incursion problem. Yet despite China’s highly questionable methodology in controlling Islamic jihad (stealth and violent), no one is blasting that country as racist and “Islamophobic,” not even the Western-hating, Israel-bashing UN, which has been long hijacked by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). This silence is quite telling about the Islamic supremacist obsession with Israel and the West.

A Chinese official was also recently demoted “for being afraid to smoke” in front of Muslim religious figures; whereas in the West, it would be more likely that the official would be demoted for “offending” Muslims.

Chinese authorities have released a list of some common Muslim names used in Xinjiang region that are forbidden to use for newborns from now on, according to Radio Free Asia report.

Twenty-nine names, which are commonly used by the predominantly-Muslim Uighur population of the northwestern region, were featured in the document, entitled ‘Naming Rules for Ethnic Minorities’ and issued last Wednesday, according to Channel NewsAsia.
