Polizeisprecher Abdul Basir Mudschahid sagte der Nachrichtenagentur AFP, das Zünden des Sprengsatzes habe „Opfer“ verursacht, nannte aber keine konkreten Zahlen. Das Innenministerium in Kabul bestätigte, dass es einen „Terroranschlag“ gegeben habe.
