Britain will soon be able to defend itself against terrorism free from Brussels’ shackles, and it’s all thanks to Brexit.

postthumbnailA new Sanctions Bill will mean Britain is able to freeze assets and block access to bank accounts of rogue foreign governments, criminal organisations and individuals, putting the power back in our hands and not the EU’s.

It means the government can now act if there is a “reasonable belief” that the person or group of people have terrorist links.

Ministers would only need “reasonable ground” to take “appropriate action” – so we’re no longer hamstrung by Brussels red tape.
