EU-Marineeinsatz vor Libyen: Nicht genügend Rekruten

Offenbar wollen kaum Libyer zur Küstenwache gehen, obwohl das Gehalt für dortige Verhältnisse hoch ist. Die EU hat nun ein Problem.

Eigentlich sollte bald ein neuer Ausbildungslehrgang für libyische Küstenschutzkräfte in Italien und Spanien durchgeführt werden. Allerdings haben sich, so die “Welt”, bislang erst 75 Kandidaten für die Ausbildung gemeldet haben. Geplant war jedoch die Ausbildung von 255 Rekruten in Italien, sowie 34 Rekruten in Spanien.

“Die Zahl bleibt weit hinter unseren Erwartungen und Planungen zurück. Sie ist enttäuschend“, sagte ein hochrangiger EU-Diplomat, der mit der Angelegenheit vertraut ist. Die Rekruten sollen nach einem Beschluss der EU-Länder pro Woche 100 Euro Lohn erhalten. “Trotzdem haben sich viel zu wenig Kandidaten gemeldet. Wir kennen die genauen Gründe nicht”, hieß es weiter in EU-Diplomatenkreisen…
