De Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie is niet bij iedereen bekend, maar is het orgaan van de Vlaamse gemeenschap bevoegd in Brussel voor Nederlandstaligen. De Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie heeft zelfs een parlement: de Raad van de Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie.

Gekend of niet, het weerhoudt er de verkozenen niet van om af en toe flink rel te schoppen. In de plenaire zitting van vrijdag 9 juni vloog Jef Van Damme (sp.a) in een razende colère uit tegen Dominiek Lootens-Stael (Vlaams Belang) na een aantal keren onderbroken geweest te zijn. “ZWIJG, GIJ BRUINE RAKKER!”, klonk het.
