At least 15 Kurdish YPG fighters killed by ISIS fire in Raqqa: official

The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) announced on Thursday the death of 15 of its members in recent clashes with Islamic State’s (ISIS) extremists in northern Syria.

“During the recent military operations against Daesh [ISIS] terrorists, fifteen of our bravest fighters have lost their lives,” the YPG leadership said in a statement on Thursday.

The Kurdish leadership identified the fighters who were killed in clashes in Raqqa city.

They have sacrificed their lives for the sake of liberating Raqqa from the terrorists,” it said.
