Woman dies after ‘throat was slit’ at Dockside shopping centre in Chatham

A woman has died after her throat was reportedly slit in a shopping centre car park.

A man, who is 25 and from Rochester, has been arrested after he is alleged to have shut his partner in his car near the Odeon cinema before launching the attack.

Police have released a statement, which said: “Kent Police is investigating after the victim of a serious assault in Chatham has died.

“Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to the dockside area in Maritime Way, Chatham at 11.03am on Thursday 29 June 2017 to a report of a serious assault.

“The woman, believed to be aged in her 20s, suffered injuries consistent with a stabbing, and died at the scene…
