Op de lijst van 173 IS-terroristen die onderweg zouden zijn naar Europa om hier zelfmoordaanslagen te plegen, staat ook een Belg. Het gaat om een 24-jarige man met Marokkaanse roots die zich ‘Abu Omar Al-Belgiki‘ noemt.
De Belg met dubbele nationaliteit verbleef tot voor kort in Mosoel, het Iraakse bolwerk waar IS recent verdreven is. Hij kwam nooit eerder publiekelijk in beeld, al kenden onze veiligheidsdiensten hem wel.
Zijn bijnaam lijkt een eerbetoon aan Abdelhamid Abaaoud, de Molenbeekse commandant van de Parijse terreur die dezelfde alias had. Waar de Belg zich momenteel bevindt, is niet geweten. Maar van de andere Europeanen voor wie Interpol uitdrukkelijk waarschuwt in een document dat wij in handen hebben gekregen, zou er zeker één uit het belegerde Mosoel zijn kunnen ontsnappen en nu via buurland Syrië in het Westen proberen te geraken…
